The Berlin Marathon is one of the five most important running events worldwide. For its 50th anniversary, we developed a campaign for the U.S. running shoe brand Brooks to celebrate the launch of the new Glycerin Max. At the heart of the campaign stood one observation: the Glycerin Max, with its innovative new sole, is just like Berlin itself – explosive, light-footed, and always in motion.
The campaign was placed at various locations throughout Berlin, and for each, we developed a unique message. For example, "Berlin auf neuem Speed" ("Berlin on new speed") was placed near some of Berlin's iconic techno clubs, while "50 Jahre Marathon. Läuft bei dir, Berlin" ("50 years of Marathon. Way to go, Berlin") appeared in front of major running sports retailers.
In addition to the out-of-home visuals, the campaign was continued on social media.
Good to know: To visually connect the city of Berlin with the shoe, we enhanced parts of the visuals with Berlin-specific motifs in the style of the campaign, which we generated using AI .
